I removed the add-on but it's still there.
I removed an add-on. When I go to the add-ons page, it shows that it's been removed and gives me the option to restart Firefox (as if I just removed it during that session). I did it several times to no avail.
The icon for the add-on shows on every web page unless the add-ons page is open. Some of the add-ons have a disable button as well as a remove button. I removed this one. I was having this problem before I updated to Firefox 4.0, so the update didn't fix it.
When I went into my profiles folder under Firefox via the start menu button, I couldn't decipher any of the items in it to remove any extensions.
I went through several recommendations on your site to fix this. And here I am. Did I miss something?

If it is marked removed you still need to restart to have the add-on removed. For now it is in a disabled, marked for removal phase.
Some Extensions and Plugins are installed by other applications on your system and will keep re-installing them after you have un-installed in the Add-ons Manager. Read these:

I'm sorry I was unclear. What I failed to say was that I also restarted Firefox several times after being told as many times to do so following uninstalling the add-on.
