Facebook (the entire website) runs extremely slow in Firefox.
This doesn't happen with any other websites. It's extremely slow to scroll, load pages, etc. and whenever I have a Facebook tab open it slows down the whole browser. The browser goes back to normal speed as soon as the Facebook tabs are closed. The worst is when I am typing a message or comment on Facebook - especially messages - it lags behind my actual typing speed so badly that I have to stop and wait for the characters to catch up to me, sometimes for several minutes just to finish a single sentence before I can move on. It's making it extremely difficult to use as a communication tool and I'm not sure what to do about it.

I had this problem (running on Linux though). Disabling the DownloadHelper extension solved it for me.

DownloadHelper was definitely the culprit. It's unfortunate, because it's a very useful extension. I suppose I'll just re-enable it whenever I really, really need it.
EDIT: Well, it seemed to work for a while but the problem's started up again. Any other ideas?

I have this problem with discussion forums, specifically topix. The text lags well behind the typing, while every so often it will "hiccup" - refresh the text box and jump ahead, leaving out the letters I'm typing as it jumps. The whole thing creates all manner of garble in it's wake. I do not have Download Manager as an add-on, so it cannot be that. The problem does not occur with IE, but since FF is a superior product in all other ways, I sure wish they could fix it.
Correction: Download Helper is not enabled.
Yeah... I don't have Download Helper and I still have this problem.
So it's not Download Helper.
I noticed that this is when you have zoomed using CTRL & +. If you reset to the default size with CTRL+0 typing speed is normal...
