When I send an email, I am always asked to enter the password for my SMPT server. When I view my saved Passwords, I can see the correct password is stored. Why do I have to enter it each time then?

What authentication method is specified for the account in server settings - oauth?

It is set to STARTTLS which is what it has always been set to. I have not changed this option. The authentication method is normal password. I have tried oauth2 with the same STARTTLS, but have the same result.

Hello Joe

If I understand correctly your messages, the post title is definitely misleading. Your password is working when you enter it, so it can't be said that it's not 'recognized'. Your problem is that the *saved* password is not working. In your place I'd try to delete the saved password, and then retry the connection and checking 'Use password manager' before connecting.
