I was trying out the sync option. I was using my laptop and android. Got it working fine with the regular Firefox. But decided I wanted to stay with Fitefox beta. So I turned off sync and uninstalled regular Firefox from my android. And then I go to my laptop, yep, all my bookmarks are gone. I guess when I took it of my phone it also deleted it from my laptop. I've gone to library, to deleted, reinstalled the regular Firefox on my phone and synced back with my laptop. Nadda. Any ideas?

Hmm, clearing mobile data by uninstalling Firefox shouldn't affect desktop data. That's very strange.

Can you try using Restore on your laptop? This article has the steps: Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer.

That's what I'm about to try right now. It's strange because there is a bookmark folder but it's dark and when I try to recover from that it just says file not found.

I did go to system restore today and used a restore point from 6 months ago. Still nothing. I'm going to make a Linux boot USB and boot to that. I did it for a couple friends. Gotta get the ios file from Microsoft site. FYI I had a USB with the bookmarks file on it. I uploaded it to my laptop and when I went to import the file just had one of the black gloves looking icons and there was a bookmarks html file but it was empty. If the Linux boot doest do it I'll just get screenshots of all my installation files and save documents and photos to a USB and run malwarebytes on the files as they upload. Rhen do a factory reset from my recovery USB I goth the laptop

I'll let you know how it goes. And thanks so much for your advice on all this.
