By mistake, I deleted my ESET Password Manager extension. When I went back to Firefox extensions to put it back in, I cannot find ESET Password Manager listed. How do I reinstall it?

A big thanks to all of you -- each of you provided a piece of the puzzle, and when I started in safe mode, it finally all came together! I feel whole at last!! All of you are wonderful to help out those of us who just don't have enough know-how to muddle through on our own. And I needed all of your ideas, so thanks again to all.

When I try your advice to install, I get "The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt." The extension worked before, and the extension works in a non-Firefox browser, but I prefer Firefox and can't figure out what to do next.

I recommend that you contact ESET for help with their add-on.

Hmm, I don't get an error. One possible reason for that message is if your system clock is significantly off. Can you double-check?

I checked my system clock -- it is correctly set, but thanks for thinking about this. I've sent a note to ESET to see if they have any ideas.

Does it work to use this alternate installation method:

(A) On the page Paul suggested earlier, right-click the link labeled "Install the ESET Password Manager extension" and choose Save Link As to download the XPI file to your computer.

(B) Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

(C) On the right side of the page, click the wheel or gear button and choose "Install Add-on from File..." to open a dialog where you can select that XPI file.

Any difference?

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that allows to install the extension.
