Why does Firefox remove flash embed via the object HTML tag?

I have a website that contains embedded slideshows from Flickr: http://2016.crossroads-festival.org/de/fotosaudio/fotos2016.html

My issue is that in Chrome the slideshows are displayed after I explicitly allow Flash. See this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/UjpqfLr

However, in Firefox nothing is displayed. There is not even an option to enable Flash. When I look at the HTML source code in Firefox, I can see that Firefox completely removed the embed HTML-code.

    • My questions are:**
- Why is Firefox removing the content?
- How can I show the slideshows in Firefox?

crossroads 2016 tag . . . . . . . They all worked fine on my system.

In your screenshot, what is the message about flash?

Re-install your Flash Player

First, remove it using these links; http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html Uninstall Flash Player | Windows http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html Uninstall Flash Player | Mac

Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version: Version 31.0.0.148

That is good to hear.

Firefox has a built-in HTML5 player. But many websites still use flash players.

Firefox never shipped with a Flash player. Proprietary and open source do not mix that way. Firefox does download some plugins after installation (you'll see them on the Add-ons page, Plugins panel), but Flash isn't one of them.

To add to this, the NPAPI Flash Player Plugin is installed on OS and not in Firefox as type about:plugins in Location (address) bar to see where the Flash Plugin Firefox is making use of is located.

but why doesn't firefox tell me that flash is required to display the website properly? as a user i am just left with empty space where the flash player should be. see: https://imgur.com/a/osLAZU6

I would expect to be asked if I want to download the flash player. this does not happen.
