Recently when I try to open a new tab, it opens a second tab with a different web address. Please tell me how I can block this.
I have been using Firefox for quite a number of years now. Recently when I try to open a new tab, it opens a second tab with the web address of "https://smartpixel.xyz/?c=3&d=1087214" which then opens another web site.
Please tell me how I can block or prevent it open this “smatpixel.xyz” website.

Many thanks for your reply. I did have ADW Cleaner on my PC which I ran before, but didn't know about Malwarebytes. I installed it and ran it. It found 33 potential threats and quarantined them. I have tried opening a few tabs and the "smartpixel" has not shown its head yet. So I think the problem is solved. Should it recur I will let you know. Once again thanks for your help. John.

Are you using any of the 'newtab' add-ons? Are you saying that two tabs open, or just the unwanted one?
Hi Fred. No I am not using the newtab add-ons. When i open Firefox I usually start in Google. then the second tab I open Facebook. this problem usually comes up if I open a third tab for something else. That's when the problem tab opens with that "smartpixel" thing. I have also turned on the "Do not track" feature, but no difference. I can't find anything else in Firefox Help to solve, which is why I am turning to the Forum. John.
Please use more than 1 scanner as each uses diff tech :
Also use Malwarbytes AdwCleaner Save your Report and google each before deleting anything as do not want to delete something you need, If need help :
Post in only 1 forum, then wait.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
