I can only retrieve previous session 1 month earlier from my Profile Folder, I would like to retrieve session from 1 or 2 days before.

To add I have tried restoring from the 'Restore Previous Session' tab but it is greyed out and does not open. I have restored Windows back to 2 days ago and it still has not retrieved my tabs from 2 days ago.
I go to about:support > click on Profile Folder > Open Folder > sessionstore-backups. The nearest session restore I can get asides from today's date is from a file called recovery.bak 5/10/2017 00:16, all of the files are in the screenshot I have sent with this thread.

I must add this had happened after I shut down my computer. I was given an automatic restore option on loading up Firefox again but it had tabs from about a month ago with none of my more current tabs in sight!
The screen shot did not upload just now but has now done so.
I am thankful for your contributions in advance, I really need to restore my session from yesterday.
First, please back up all those files in a safe place.
If Restore Previous Session is grayed, it means either the session already was restored or Firefox could not find an earlier session.
If we assume Firefox has restored what it found, are there any closed windows that you can re-open from the History menu? It may be easier to use the classic menu bar for this. Tap the Alt key or the F10 key to activate it temporarily if necessary, then check the History menu for Recently Closed Windows.
If that doesn't help...
Firefox 56 changed the format of the session history files to a compressed format, which is indicated by the lz4 in the file extension. So previous.jsonlz4 from earlier today and upgrade.jsonlz4 from that same moment are your best hope from that set of files.
To view the contents of a session history file, you can drop it onto a tool on my website: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/scrounger.html
When you use the Windows session restore feature, you may destroy some Firefox data, but possibly it is still available in another restore point. Windows 10 makes this a little difficult to explore, but there is a third party tool to ease the process a bit.
- Set Windows to show hidden files and folders: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files
- Try: http://nicbedford.co.uk/software/systemrestoreexplorer/
Within System Restore Explorer, travel up the path to your sessionstore-backups folder in different restore points to see whether you can find anything promising. I suggest copying files out to your Documents folder or Desktop; don't overwrite any files currently in use.
Anything that looks like it has the missing tabs?
Hello
I will give this a look and see
Thank you for your swift response
Hi how do you back up the files in the screenshot I sent you

Oh, what I had in mind was, select all (Ctrl+a), copy (Ctrl+c), then go to where you want to stash them, and paste (Ctrl+v).
Yes thank you I have done that and saved
Hello just to confirm is the system restore link: http://nicbedford.co.uk/software/systemrestoreexplorer/ only for restoring Windows or is it for Windows and Fire Fox or Fire Fox by itself?
Earlier today around 1pm I did a windows restore to 7/11/2017 but it did not include my FireFox tabs from yesterday only from around a month ago which is weird.
I have gone to the link:
Once I have chosen the date that I would like to restore to 7/11/2017 on System Restore Explorer I then clicked on Mount and then do not know what to do from there at the moment no pop up for further options have come up.
I have got this far:
When you select a restore point and mountit the tool will create a shortcut to that particular restore point which will allow you to browse the contents and copy files. (Where will I find these files exactly?)
I have found the files but do not how to copy and paste them when I try they doesn't seem to work
Could you try pasting to the desktop outside of Windows Explorer? Hopefully that will work. I don't think you can paste inside the restore point.
Thank you!
I have copied and pasted all the files from the desired restore point 7/11/2017 there seems to be pasting files in the hundred thousands is this normal?
I don't understand. You copy a handful of files and when you paste it Windows creates hundreds of files?
Yes here are all the files I have copied
Is this correct?
Sorry! I was thinking you had already drilled down to your profile folder:
Users > username > AppData > Roaming > Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles > profile.name > sessionstore-backups
That other stuff is much more than you need.
