I open the browser and every couple of days I have to reset all my settings. I have to reset my home page (again), I have to reset extensions (again), I have to reset where I want things to download (again), I have to reset my option for when firefox starts up (yes yes yes I want my tabs etc from my last session). This has never happened before and it is getting quite irritating. I'm seriously thinking about Chrome and giving up firefox after using it for 10 years.

I have the exact same problem.

My browser keeps resetting itself... it is not "syncing my preferences" accordingly...

  1. It defaults the Search tab ..
  2. It defaults the Advanced tab ..
  3. lastly, it defaults my extensions...

If you have sync, and there is a problem anywhere, Shut Down Sync Immediately to prevent the problem from spreading. Once the problem is fixed, perform the same repair on all computers before using sync again.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
