Continually crashes since update. Crashes even in safe mode. Crashes even with previous versions. Have to reinstall shockwave every time I have to restart my computer. I do not want to reset to default as it's not an extension problem. It is a firefox browser problem.

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.
- You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".

Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
I can't even get the browser open long enough to get anything like that information. The browser crashes immediately after clicking on the icon to open it. The only information I can provide is what is posted above from the details listed on the crash notification.
I'm going to send you a link to Firefox 27.0.1 by private message. After you run the installer, please try to get the crash IDs before exiting Firefox.
This is pretty much every crash report for the last month.

Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options. In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General". In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox. Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
No, that didn't help. Firefox is still crashing, I'm running the previous version though now, so at least I can get into firefox. My graphics drivers are up to date. And the problem isn't any extension or plugin because the crashes happen in safe mode as well.
Hey Everyone, there are ways to get crash Id's without downgrading, so please try those techniques in the future.
Tammy, Sorry you are having issues here. Can you please try creating a new profile, then updating to Firefox 28 and seeing if it will open in that profile?
After waiting for several days and trying the update again, I am now able to run Firefox 28.
Can I please get a link to Firefox 27 too?
Hi nightopus, what issue are you having? If you are experiencing crashes in Firefox 28, could you start a new question with your system details and some recent crash IDs? See:
- The last section of this article describes how to submit crash data to Mozilla and post a link to it here for a volunteer to review: Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)
- You can start a new question at the following link. Scroll down past the suggestions to continue with the form (I think it has 3 different screens). https://support.mozilla.org/questions/new/desktop/fix-problems
Same problems with all updates so just reverted back to 18.0.2 and it is stable. I gave up trying to figure out why all the updates keeps crashing.
Hi B1975, I suggest starting a new question. There's a link at the top of each page here. If you can't run a recent version of Firefox, then for your security, it's time to switch to a different browser.
