Firefox will not open and displays message "C:\Programme Files\Mozilla Firefox\gkmedias.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check against your installation diskette" Also will not allow me to uninstall therefore preventing me from reinstalling programme

You can install Firefox on top of an existing Firefox installation without losing your personal data and/or settings.

Just go to the Firefox download page, download Firefox and install it as normal.
