Hello, my crash id bp-60ee5844-558c-4ea2-8d7d-d47020211019

Thunderbird crashes when I open attachments. It gives me this reason:

MOZ_RELEASE_ASSERT(NS_IsMainThread()) (nsXPCWrappedJS::Release called off main thread)

Please help! I'm not a computer person, if you have a solution for dummies available I would be VERY GRATEFUL. Thanks.

what is your crash ID?

Ignore that question - I had scrolled past the crash ID.

bp-60ee5844-558c-4ea2-8d7d-d47020211019 is @ InvalidArrayIndex_CRASH | nsMsgProgress::OnStateChange

There is there is no bug report for this crash signature. But there is a reasonable possibility this might be fixed by https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1175168 in version 91.2.1. (There are no more version 78 updates)

Hi Wayne, thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I have no earthly clue what to do with this information. I'm not a computer person at all. Are there any instructions available in plain English that I can follow? I just see lines of code being offered. Sorry but this thread is way beyond my skill set.

In thunderbird do Help > About and allow Thunderbird to update to 91.2.1.

The report shows you have the Italian language pack installed. Language packs are known to cause problems in 91, although I haven't seen any related to opening attachments. Try this: open Tools/Add-ons & Themes, and in the Languages section remove the Italian language pack; you can leave the IT dictionary as is. Restart TB and see if it still crashes.

My version is already updated to 91.2.1. I've had the Italian language pack on for a while with no problems, but I did remove. I will use for a bit and see if its still crashing. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Four days later - Still clean? And how often were you crashing?
