Firefox does not play/or detect sounds on any page. Reinstall, safe mode, refresh had no effect.

Running on Win 10 64 bit Hello I tried every support article that firefox has to offer regarding the issue, however none of them seem to be helpfull and apply to the issue. Reinstall, safe mode, refresh had no effect. Troubleshooting windows drivers and reinstalling had no effect either. Firefox does show up in the soundmixer, and is not muted, however the tabs in firefox have no sound icon, so i assume they dont register any sound rather than being muted?

I apreciate any input :)

Could you try this very basic test page:

The speaker icon should appear on the tab very quickly after you click the play triangle. Does that appear and is there any sound?

Another thing to check :

Type in the address bar about:config and press Enter (promise to be careful, if asked)

Type in the search bar and look for the preference :

browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon

The value should be set to true, but might somehow have changed to "false" (weird things do happen).

If you had to change the value, then close and restart Firefox.
