I have tried various things and in the process deleted my profile, I can't create a new one because I can't open the profile manager, also in the background I think. If I try safe mode I get the pop up message that "user profile is missing" or something like that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, manually deleted folders as described in various posts, no joy. Help!! I like Firefox and do not like the idea of having to use Microsoft's Edge browser... thanks for any help.. paul.

Hi Pkshadow, thanks so much for replying, I have sorted it!! I had done everything you said, but was stuck on having no user profile, but I found my backup and restored it and hey presto, it worked!!! Life is strange, delighted to have Firefox back, and a big big thankyou for your help, pbrain.

HI, please look to see if you have 2 Profile folders, your looking for the oldest dated one that would be your profile before this all started :

Unless you have deleted the folder during you installs something should be there. If there can help you figure it out and maybe save something.

Please uninstall Firefox this way . Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Important : Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.0 with a Full Version Installer
