A nightmare software piggy-backed when trying to load a video player. ALL tabs open to the software. I'll stop using Mozilla if you cannot help.

If you cannot help, I'll have to uninstall Mozilla permanently and stop using it. I tried to download a video player and a 'speed' software piggy-backed onto my system. The player did NOT work and the piggybacked software will NOT uninstall or be erased. I've changed every setting in Mozilla I can find or think of. This nightmare keeps loading onto EVERY new tab I open. It includes tracking features. I even downloaded a new copy of Mozilla and this &R%*&#$)%*W keeps loading as the page for every new tab even in the NEW Mozilla download. If you cannot help; I have to stop using your software permanently. I hope to NEVER see these people again on a computer. I've gone through all your helps and nothing kills this beast from showing up. http://search.heasyspeedtest.co/?uid=1fff30ac-1797-4651-ba5f-c345d6e77d4e&uc=20171113&ap=appfocus1&source=d-lp0&page=newtab&implementation_id=speedtest_4.0.17#

If your OS is Windows you may like to install this tiny program. It works in the background and unchecks any add-on pups that try to install when you download any programs or updates. I've been using it for years and it has stopped 5 things that I missed unchecking while updating Skype of all things.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.

  1. please go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
  2. also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
  3. finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the https://www.malwarebytes.com/ free version of malwarebytes] & adwcleaner, which are specialised in adware and browser hijackers.

Anyone alive out there? Or, do I need to stop using Mozilla. I'm on this from the 'evil E' because Mozilla has become such a nightmare.

have you already followed all those suggestions?

I've tried most of that but, not all yet. I'll go try the things I've not already tried yet. Warn others about 'free video viewers'. They're NOT 'free'.

Also never download Codecs if asked to. Most of the time you do not need them. If do need codecs they can be found in the free VLC program (video Player, will play anything). https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html and if actually need more K-Lite Codec Pack https://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/KLite-Codec-Pack-Standard/1094057842/2

Search.heasyspeedtest.co is a browser hijacker that is bundled with other free software that you download off of the Internet. When installed this browser hijacker it will set the homepage and search engine for your web browser to http://search.heasyspeedtest.co and http://query.heasyspeedtest.co.

Found the above at the link you sent. I'm going through the steps as soon as the MALWAREBYTES loads.
