An older version of Firefox supported the Plain old web server(POW) Add-on but this requires reverting to version 3.5 without the benefit of updates etc...

There was a newer version - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/browser-server/ - but it has been pulled from the add-ons website by its author.
