My wife called me to look at her computer. She is not getting emails and I checked where the email was going and it gives me "not suitable for receiving email". How to I recover her email? Changing it to different directories under the Mozilla profile directory makes no difference.

Hello

Where do you get this error?

Michael: You asked where I am getting this. It is on an XP SP3 laptop. Apparently there was an upgrade that came through and she hasn't been able to get new mail since the end of January. When looking at the location where messages went, it said that the location where messages went was not suitable and to use another location. The location is the default one \documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\thunderbird\.. \profiles\... I tried another spot and 53 messages came in and then vanished.

Can you describe what you're doing when getting the error? Also, can you post a screenshot of the error message? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

I tried another spot and 53 messages came in and then vanished.

I'd suggest you stop making changes as this will most likely make things even worse. I'd hope you can recall what changes you made so you can eventually reverse them.

It was apparently an update from Thunderbird that got the ball rolling. I have put the location back to where it was and it still gives the error message.

If you can post a screenshot you may actually do it.
