Difficulty upgrading Firefox
I am apparently using an older version of Firefox. I have been going in circles trying to do a manual upgrade. I am SO frustrated! I can't find the page to do the first step!
1. At the top of the Firefox window click the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select About Firefox.
What "Firefox window"?? I cannot find anything with a Firefox button to click on that takes me to a Help menu.

If you need to skip versions like in your case from Firefox 27 to Firefox 31 (Firefox 32 will be released next Tuesday) then it is usually better to download and save the full version, especially if there are problem with updating.
You can find the full version of the current Firefox 31.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Please go to www.getfirefox.com, and download and install the latest version. How to install Firefox on Windows
Thanks, Tyler, but I'm trying to upgrade not install.
I'm aware of that fact, which is why I said to download a new version of Firefox and install it. It will save all your personal data and upgrade Firefox in case you are having difficulty updating.

If you are not seeing the "Help" menu you do not have the Menu bar turned on. Right click at the top of the browser and choose the Menu bar. This will give you access to the Help Menu. Once you go "About Firefox" it will either start updating automatically, or have an option to check for updates.
