First of all I realize that I made a big mistake keeping all my hundreds of emails in my inbox and not creating folders.

I am running Thunderbird 24.6.

A few days ago I received an error 'Not enough disk space, please delete or compact' (can't remember exact text). So I deleted some emails and I kept on receiving emails.

Then I tried to access emails received before this error which are showing on my message list and they did not have any content. If I VIEW > MESSAGE SOURCE for these older messages there is no information. I went to AppData and saw that my INBOX file was tiny (few hundred Kb) and only contained the emails received after the error message. The .MSF file indexes all of the emails and they show on Thunderbird message list but with no content at all.

I am guessing that my INBOX file corrupted in some way and there is nothing I can do to get those emails but thought I would throw it out there.

I think you have the guts of it. Which is a shame, both for you and for me as I really would like to get hold of a before and after file to see what exactly happens when the file is full. I can guess, but without evidence I just can not get the developers to fix it as no one can say for sure what happens.
