What's the point of pinning tabs if they aren't cached? They're temporary things that I don't want to clutter my bookmarks with, nor do I want them cluttering my tabs on open.

This functionality also overrides the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" functionality. If I relaunch FF while that private window is still open I should get my last window (with pins). I don't.

If you relaunch Firefox while a private window is open, Firefox opens a new window in your existing Firefox session, it doesn't reload the previous session. You would need to close all windows in your current session and then relaunch Firefox in order for the session restore feature to kick in.

But when you still have the private window open and you open a regular window, using the History menu in that regular window, can you reopen the window that had your open/pinned tabs?
