How do I turn off search options in the URL autocomplete function?

Basically the question. I like the autocomplete dropdown, but it's now cluttered with search options and not my previous URLs. I, personally, hate this, and would like to remove the search options from the dropdown, but can't find an option for it.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

Starting it in safe mode ceased the problem. With that knowledge, I'm sure I can find the interfering party. Thank you for the help.

you're welcome - in another recent thread a user confirmed that swagbucks toolbar was causing such a behaviour (so in case you have it present, try to disable/remove that extension before you try anything else)...
