hello, it might be an issue with hardware acceleration, please either try updating your graphics driver, or in case there is no new version available at the moment disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > general.

I updated my gforce 570 with the latest drivers and no change, also unchecked hardware acceleration in FF doesn't help me either.

This problem just started after i updated firefox to version 18.

more options

it might take a restart of the pc/browser for the change to take effect...

more options

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I tried this and i'm not using any special add-ons either... Its only since the last 2 updates i'm experiencing this.

Try disabling/removing your Yahoo! activeX Plug-in Bridge

Care to elaborate some more on that? No idea what you're talking about.

Yahoo! activeX Plug-in Bridge is showing as a plug-in in your System Details. It has caused people problems in the past. Try Googling it and "activeX".

Yeah i googled it but my FF doesn't crash at all, its just showing annoying black boarders when i rightclick the options...

Do you still have this problem in Firefox Safe mode?
