When I right click the email link no longer shows up in the context menu in FF 16
Ever since I updated to FF 16 I no longer see the option to send an email link when I right click although it does still show up under file also I noticed my Speed Dial extension isn't working correctly with FF 16.

Yes, that has been changed in Firefox 16
- bug 239307 - Remove "Send Link..." from context menus
- bug 770419 - Rename "Send Image...", "Send Video...", and "Send Audio..." to "Email Image...", etc
(please do not comment in bug reports)

The "Send Link" functionality in the context menu was the last thing keeping me from switching to Chrome full time, because they don't. Well, you've now achieved parity. Too bad, been a FF/Netscape user for a long time.
Well I still have the option to email image is there a way to bring this context menu back in the about:config option? Because I like having the option to send a link by simply right clicking and yes I know I could just go to file and select email link but its so much more intuitive to right click instead.
This change was a very bad idea. You've removed a very useful feature and replaced it with crap.
Please restore this feature to its original working condition.

Sorry, but this right click context menu instruction was a hugely desirable feature, not a bug!!! I read your bug reports above, and others have made the same critique. Please restore this immensely useful feature ASAP. Thank you.
OK well after first reverting to an older version of firefox to get my right click menu options back I have since discovered one way that works but at a cost.
By using the addon menu-editor it is possible to move the EMAIL LINK button from the file menu to the (Main Context Menu) ie the "right click menu" BUT you will loose the file menu button as there is no way to clone the button and only move a copy. Bunch of clowns that decided to do this I really don't know what they were thinking. Very VERY stupid move.
Here is a link to the only option that works https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/
Can you buggers at least provide a clone and move option in the menu-editor
It is beyond me how anyone can consider a "right click" to "send link" as a bug. I used this feature dozens of times daily. In fact I would also like an option to "send page" as well--that way I wouldn't have to worry about expired links.
If the issue (as claimed) is the number of options on a right click, then I never use "view background image", "view page source", "view page info", or "inspect element".
amgunn is 100% correct across the board. "Send page" as well as "send email link" would be extremely useful options to have, and the other so-called right click choices that continue to remain in place in FF 16 are almost certainly less frequently used than the now-orphaned send link option. So if this change is not helpful for long term users, then who was it done for? We have no idea whatsoever....
For anyone who is not happy with this change in Firefox 16, here's a Firefox extension you can install as a workaround (I haven't tried it myself - it was suggested in the bug report):
Email This! :: Add-ons for Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/email-this/
Ref: bug 239307#c23
Thanks AliceWyman that looks fairly useful but I'm not sure if it supports email apps/programs like Thunderbird but its nice to know we still have some options yet. :-) Although many of us would rather (including myself) have it built into Firefox and another feature that I use very often is view image and and view image info. So how about any one else do any of you use view image or view image info ever?

(I deleted my previous reply)
I installed the Email This! add-on to try it out in Firefox 16 with my default mail program, which is Windows Live Mail. It appeared to work, since when I right-clicked on a link and selected E-Mail This -> Mail-To This" from the context menu, it opened a mail window. However, what actually happened is that it opened a Mail window with a link to this thread, not to the link I had right-clicked (see below).
If you simply want to right-click on a page and email a link to that page, like you still can do from the Firefox (File) menu, then the Email This add-on should work. However, it won't include a link that you right-click on, which is what Firefox used to do.
If I do find a solution (other than to use the latest SeaMonkey 2.13 or Firefox 10.0.9 ESR, which both let you right-click/Send Link) , I'll post back.

Very bad idea to delete this useful function. "Email this" addon works, but is one more step & more clumsy. PLEASE restore this valuable feature as it was!
Thank you AliceWyman for the Email This! suggestion. This will suffice until FF includes this feature in the next update, hopefully.
You're welcome, skates, but just so you know, the Email This! extension (which is no longer being developed) only sends a link to the page you're on .. but that's fine if it's what you want to do.
The old Firefox right-click "Send link" menu item worked in two different ways, depending on whether you right-clicked on a link or on an empty spot in a webpage (I tested on Firefox 10.0.9 ESR):
Before Firefox 16, if you right-clicked directly on a link and chose the "Send link..." item (which was underneath "Save Link as" in the context menu) an email compose window would open with the URL of the actual link you right-clicked on. If you right-clicked on an empty spot in the webpage and chose "Send Link..." (underneath "Save Page as") the email compose window would include a link to the webpage you were on with the page title in the subject line ... which is what the Email This! extension does.
A new extension you can try (which I haven't installed myself, yet) is "Send Link in context menu" by JasnaPaka, https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/send-link-in-context-menu/ Ref: Bug 239307 comment 50 ... but according to feedback, it also doesn't work like the native menu item in that (1) when hovering over a link in a page and right clicking, it doesn't send that link but sends the link to the page and (2) doesn't provide a subject..

The right-click menu Send Link was something I used many times per day. I've installed the Mail Link extension but it requires another step to do something that was simple before.
Please put this useful function back in!
The right-click menu Send Link was something I used often. Its removal greatly degrades FF...
Please put this useful function back in!
I just installed the "Send Link in context menu" by JasnaPaka, https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/send-link-in-context-menu/ and it works great, just like the old Firefox context menu "Send Link" options. If you right-click an empty spot on a webpage, the email window will include a link to the page with a Subject line. If you right-click over a link within the page, the email will include that link (see below).
It does not work the same way. The old mechanism filled the email title field in automatically. This plugin does not. It is not a complete replacement.
What can I say, I'm lazy. I like it the way it was before the 'fix' broke it.

hey everyone!
is it possible to reinstall this bug, similar to how we could rearange the order of commands in the context menu, by configuring a userchrome.css:
