Firefox keeps crashes. What should I do?
I go to certain websites that display videos on their home pages so I don't know if it's that, that's causing firefox to crash all the time. I didn't have this problem a few days ago.

Try the suggestions in this reply:
Try making sure that any RealPlayer related software is fully updated, and state the exact versions of all Real Player related software.
Do not upgrade FlashPlayer just at this moment as I assume you deliberately chose to use Flash 10.3
(Although not secure; it is my understanding; the vulnerability involves opening maliciously manipulated MS Office type documents I believe - You may wish to take care if you use Office documents)
If you are getting actual crashes of FlashPlayer or of Firefox post a couple of recent CrashIDs.
- Do crashes only occur when video content is used?
- and does the problem occur when Flash or when RealPlayer is in use?
- are you able to reproduce the crashes reliably e.g. by using a particular site
Okay, I just updated real player. We'll see how it turns out.
Well..... it's not working. Every time I go to dallasnews.com, the site causes firefox to crash.
Do you still have crashes if you disable the flash plugin?
- Tools > Add-ons > Plugins
Yes, it still crashes.
Btw, I'm using a laptop if that makes any difference.
Please try pasting a couple of recent CrashIDs into your next post, maybe those will help us.
Using a laptop should not make too much difference, although they tend to be less well specified than Desktop pc s so more likely to have memory, hdd capacity and processing limitations; and some may for instance slow down the processor when on battery power.
Another thought is is it is summer here and can get hot, laptops on a soft surface will easily overheat, and that may crash them. (Desktops may clog with dust).

I use a cooling pad.
Could you paste a few crash Id s into your next post then please. I suggest recent Id s two each when
- FlashPlayer was enabled
- Flashplayer was disabled
As you confirmed RealPlayer software is up-to-date it may also be worth testing with the RealPlayer related software disabled and enabled. If you are able to reliably reproduce crashes just by visiting a particular site it should be easy to obtain recent crash reports.
Have you tried cor-els suggestion of turning of Hardware acceleration yet ?
If you are having any problems with obtaining crash reports please let us know what that problem is. It may also help if you attach a screenshot of any error message or crash dialogue especilly if you are not yet able to find crash ID s using about:crashes.
Yeah..... I turned off the hardware acceleration. I'll try to give you the crash ID reports.
Where do I go to find the crash IDs?
Where do I go to find the crash IDs?
It is explained in the article
- Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)_get-help-fixing-this-crash
That is a clickable link --^^-- to the article (blue text)- but do not use the link in the article to post the results because that then starts a new question in the forum
If you wish to attach screen shots have a look at
You go to about:crashes by typing that into the address bar where you normally put web addresses in firefox (not the search bar)
Okay, here are some:

The most recent crash report and possibly some others are caused by mwtsp.dll
That file is part of MicroWorld Internet Traffic Scanner
So what do I do now or what can you guys do?
Well..... do you guys have a solution to fix this problem?
If there is a problem with that MicroWorld Internet Traffic Scanner program then you need to disable the components (mwtsp.dll ) in it that Firefox uses and contact them for support to check if there is an update.
Where do I go to disable the components in it that Firefox uses because just now, I had another crash. And there's no new updates as of right now.
I went ahead and canceled the Traffic Scanner because it didn't do anything. I had another crash going to one of those same websites through Firefox last night. Is there anything else you guys can do? Firefox is starting to become a nuisance.
