if i restore firefox to a certain date will i lose bookmarks in my other brosers
My history was deleted each time I closed Firefox. I didn't know that. Now I need my history, for the last 10 days. The Firefox options say I can restore to a certain date but my bookmarks will be replaced by the new history. Is that just in Firefox, or will it mess up my bookmarks in my other three browsers?

Yes, I'm afraid so. Sorry about that. The history information is stored in the places.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder from where it is shown in the library. In this case history wasn't being stored. You may be able to get the nine most frequently visited sites before this setting was made, or the pinned sites by opening a new tab. If you're using a router with logging enabled perhaps you could also try that way.

Hi,
The Bookmarks/History library has the history entries (History) grouped by date on the top left corner, and below that are the bookmark entries (All Bookmarks) which unlike history has to be specifically and manually populated like by right-clicking on the star icon in the location (address) bar. The history entries are automatically populated (depending on your settings) when you open a site. If you selected to never keep history then it is not possible to recover that. The restore option in the library only applies to bookmarks.
Thanks for your prompt response. I've set my options to reflect what I really want, now that I understand better. Originally, the box was checked under custom settings to clear history each time Firefox is closed. I didn't know that until is was too late. So, if I understand correctly, once history is cleared there is no way of getting it back, is that right? Not good news but, I appreciate your help.
