I've been working on a Persona design, and according to

http://www.getpersonas.com/en-US/demo_create_3#test

I should be able to set my design as a custom Persona to see if it is correct before submitting it... but the directions for how to achieve this are completely inappropriate to the Mac and Firefox (3.6.9.) version that I have... there's no custom Persona check box in the Firefox preferences (which are located at the top left, without an icon... not on a bottom left cornered quick launch icon like the tutorial directs).

I followed a suggested link on the forums, which says that the Persona images are stored in the hard drive under /library/mozilla, but I can't find anything there and can't seem to find how to view any hidden objects... but considering messing with those settings is a lot more complex to poke around in on a Mac anyway, I'd like more appropriate instructions on how to correct this issue.

That testing step is referring to the Personas extension (aka Personas Plus), which is available from the Get Personas for Firefox button on the left-side of that page, or here where it is called Personas Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/10900/

You don't need that extension to use Personas in Firefox 3.6+ versions, but it adds certain features that aren't built into Firefox - like previewing a "custom" Persona before you upload it.
