I've always had BBC Homepage as my homepage, now screen is blank but all other BBC pages will show - says 'Done'.
I've always used BBC Homepage as my Homepage. I use Safari as well as Firefox & all OK on Safari. Not only does this homepage no longer appear when I boot up though it says 'Done' in bottom left-hand corner, I can't access is when system is up & going. No problem with other websites including all other BBC pages: if I type in, say, http://www.bbc.co.uk/food all is OK but if I click on BBC Homepage from there I get the blank screen.

Yep, same problem for me. Only started happening two days ago.
BBC Homepage completely blank. No source code shows up either. Get the following response header (from Webdev toolbar):
Date: Thu, 12 Aug 2010 10:05:58 GMT Server: Apache Vary: Accept-Encoding Content-Encoding: gzip Content-Length: 20 Connection: close Content-Type: text/html
500 Internal Server Error
I don't think I've added any new addons recently. And it only happens in Firefox, not IE or Chrome. And bizarrely, like the poster above any BBC subdomains are fine, like bbc.co.uk/sport, or /news.
I'm on a Windows XP PC, running FF 3.6.8. Very odd issue and seems very few people are having it going by Google search. But bizarre that, for all of those that do have the problem, it happened on Tuesday.
Any help 'ppreciated. Rob
exactly the same for me on a mac (osx 10.6.4 snow leopard) happened on firefox 3.6.8 upgrade to vers 4 beta did not change things. safari 5.0.1 works fine. home page is redered in 'quirks mode', rest of bbc site works fine ('standard rendition') see attached image for page info off blank home page. i have made no additions to add-ons, plug-ins etc, still on default themes and everything else.
I had this same problem in Chrome so don't think its browser specific. Fixed it by deleting all my BBC cookies.
Bad coding Mr BBC!
