Firefox Generated Pop-ups
A couple months ago I started getting pop-ups from Firefox notifying me of e-mail messages in my AOL tab.
The pop-ups appear randomly, and do not cover all e-mail messages, only what appears to be random ones.
The pop-up appears in a generally black box. Firefox in the upper left corner, and then some variant of an e-mail message from my in-box.
The message (pop-up) even appears in the log-in window, when I have locked the computer and have yet to re-sign-in.
I believe I have my Firefox pop-up parameters correctly set.
So AOL or something in Windows-10??
Just a little annoyance................

Hi Richard, Firefox may be sending notifications from the site to the Windows alerts/notifications center. I don't know why it is selective; that might be determined by AOL itself.
As a starting point, you could remove notification permission for AOL using the following steps:
While you are on a page on the site, call up the Page Info dialog using one of these methods:
- Ctrl+i (for Mac, Command+i)
- (menu bar) Tools > Page Info
- click the lock icon in the address bar, on the drop-down click the > button, then at the bottom click "More Information"
When the dialog comes up, click the Permission icon at the top to show that panel.
Scroll down to "Send Notifications" and uncheck the "Use default" box, and then select Block to stop site-generated notifications. Then you can close Page Info.
You might need to reload that tab (Ctrl+R) so Firefox doesn't just continue running the current scripts.
You also might need to unregister a Service Worker for the site. To find those, type or paste about:serviceworkers in the address bar and press Enter to load that page. If the site has registered a background process, it should be listed here.
