I am using Windows 10 Enterprise N, Version 21H2 and installed the Media Feature Pack through the Optional Features tab. But even though other browsers have picked up on that and can play e.g. Twitch streams etc. appropriately, while Firefox still shows the `this video is unavailable or not supported in this browser` error message.

Where did you get the plugin from?

It is not a Plugin and if you searched you would see it is from Microsoft. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-video-audio-problems-firefox-windows

1]2]4]7]9] don't solve the issue 3]5] I uninstalled firefox fully and reinstalled it with a fresh profile, no luck 6] there are no other media players running, although I would hope that I can still run other media players while using firefox 8] drivers are all up-to-date

it seems to be firefox specific, as other browsers (yes, even microsoft edge) seem to be able to recognize that the Media Feature Pack has been installed and make use of it.

I amend what I stated before, apparently the Media Feature Pack isn't even the cause for this failure. Even with the Media Feature Pack uninstalled, other browsers still play media properly.

Other browsers like Google Chrome may come with their own media codecs built-in and do not, like Firefox, rely on native OS support (Firefox doesn't include the codecs due to licensing issues).
