Thunderbird 102.0 When opening a incoming email it opens up in a full window now when I used to open a incoming email it opened in a smaller window with in the full window. I can't see how to make the incoming message smaller like it used to be.

Sounds like you have a double click set up to open in a new window. Currently that new window is opening as 'Maximised' or almost maximised. It may have been that you maximised on one occasion and that was saved in a session, so basically was remembered. Now each time you open it is in maximised window.

The top right of window should display three icons. 'Minimise', 'Maximised/Restore Down' and 'Close' Open email then click on the 'Restore down' (middle icon - hover over it should say 'Restore Down')

If the window looks maximised but actually it is just a large size - not technically 'maximised' then when you hover over that middle icon, it will still say 'Maximise', but you do not want to maximise - so do the following.

Right click on the top title bar to get a drop down menu and select 'Move'. This will change the cursor so you can grab and drag window down a little from the top and slightly to the left, this will allow you to now see that top right corner of window. Now hover cursor over top right corner of window to get the double headed arrow icon - left click hold down and drag in a diagonal direction - down and left. This will reduce size of window. Now you can drag window back into a more centralised position (left click hold down on top title bar and drag) and if still too large hover cursor over sides or corner to get the arrow icon. Then left click hold down and drag to get window size desired and also in the location on screen you prefer. This newly set window size and location should get remembered.
