How can one download the latest version of Firefox that is suitable for a given version of Android (without going to Google Play store)?

I have a device with Android 4, and I am trying to download the latest Firefox that will work on it, but finding out what the right version is, and then finding that old apk file, is proving quite challenging, if not impossible. I know it is not recommended, not secure, etc., but I want it anyway. Is there (or could we consider creating) an archive of old apks at the Mozilla website, indicating which version fits which Android release? Similar to that for the VLC Media Player: https://get.videolan.org/vlc-android/
