Hi, I generally like the new look and feel of Thunderbird 78 but I much prefer the old compose window setup where each address is in its own line and you can change it from To to CC/BCC/etc. Is there a way to go back?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunate that there is no way to revert. I am well familiar with the "new" interface as I used Outlook before Thunderbird. In fact it took me a while to get used to the Thunderbird interface but then I found it worked much better for my typical workflows.

So I would really appreciate if there were an option to revert to it. But I am aware that this is free software and this is a subjective issue. Also, the permanent CC box would help at least.

Sorry, no.

When anything new is thrown upon us, it can derail us a bit - it stopped me in my tracks at first. This is because we have muscle memory and so just do things automatically because we've done it for so long. When something new happens it stops us in out tracks as we have to retrain ourselves.

I help on the Forum, so I've got two installations running both 68* and 78* at the same time. In order to help others, I had to get to grips with this new method and I'm not exactly a spring chicken. So, I really do understand how it can upset the apple cart and feel very awkward and not so easy or natural.

However, this new design is actually quicker because there are less clicks - believe me I really did test and count them. It has also been designed to make it so much easier for people who had lists of addresses in text files.

Helpers have taken the time to write a really good Help Article, which I found to be extremely useful read as it answered several of my issues and got me up and running much quicker. This is a link to that 'Addressing an email' article.

This area is still being worked on so new improvements eg: ability to auto set as visible a Cc field, are still in the pipeline.

So hang in there, it really doesn't take too long to get in the swing of things again.
