Firefox is the cause of automatic sign-out gmail problems
Here's something important. I'm working to save people's lives against COVID-19, and Firefox, not Chrome is causing ALLof my gmail accounts to quickly and automatically sign out. For almost a month, and with great diligence and frustration in trying to troubleshoot this a couple of different ways (according to Mozilla and others)), nothing has prevailed.
Could it be the great number of open windows and tabs that cause it, because that is my last (but not yet tested theory). Most of the times the sign out occurs when the email draft automatically saves itself, and the site disconnects. How I know this, is gmail says it's trying to reconnect. There's also a message saying my hangouts isn't signed in, but neither is it signed in with Chrome One more thing. Every day for the last 3 years, I use CC cleaner to remove cookies and cache, so it can't be that. You'll have to come up with something Mozilla hasn't yet thought of yet.
And lastly, Firefox Lockwise (when it was active), prevented me from finding my "SAVED LOGINS", gmail account. Not even the search engine could find it (both when Lockwise was active, and after I cancelled the account). This program prevented me from finding my own password, which was needed urgently. And now, I can't get rid of Lockwise, even after cancelling the account. Anf from what I see, I'm forced to sign up with the account again, just to ask this question. Nobody likes the bully, so please help me PERMANENTLY remove Lockwise from my system? Thank you for helping on both fronts.

hello cvmenn ,
You should be able to set Firefox to automatically log you out of your Google account, although it won't apply to just Google. You will be logged out of every account if you do this.
Go to the Firefox settings or type about:preferences in the Firefox location bar. Go to the Privacy & Security tab in the sidebar and find the History section. These are the settings that are required to make this work:
Firefox will use custom settings for history
Check Clear history when Firefox closes
In the associated Settings... button, Active Logins needs to be checked
Hope this helps.
regards , Arman
Hi cvmenn, your Firefox reported to the forum that it is version 71. Is that correct and intentional?
Gmail
I looked at your question history and I don't see a thread on Gmail sign-out in recent months:

Can you provide a link to the earlier discussions you mentioned to avoid duplicate suggestions?
Lockwise
On Firefox for Windows, the old "popup" style password manager interface was replaced with the full-page Lockwise interface.
You don't need to sign in to your Firefox Account to use locally saved data, including saved logins.
However, yes, you need to use a Firefox Account to sign into this support site.
Briefly there was a requirement to enter your Windows login to view a saved password if you hadn't previously set up a Firefox "Master Password". That requirement was rolled back because it glitched for people who didn't have a Windows login. More info in this article: Secure Firefox passwords with device sign-in.
