Firefox takes minutes to open links from external applications
This is a fresh install of Firefox 59 (64-bit) on a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) on brand new hardware.
- The Problem*
After installing Firefox and setting it as my default browser, clicking any link in an external application (email clients, game launchers, chat clients) takes 3-5 minutes on average before it opens in Firefox. Other tabs and windows in Firefox function perfectly fine and do not exhibit any strange behavior while waiting for links from other applications to open.
- Steps I have tried to solve the issue*
- Opening Firefox in safe mode - Re-installing Firefox

Are you calling these links while the browser was closed? Try this. Open Firefox. After the program is done loading, drop the window down to the taskbar.
Now try opening a link. Is the problem still there?

No, this is taking place while Firefox is open.

I appreciate the reply, but if you read my original post,

it is clear that absolutely none of those links are even remotely relevant to this topic.
