plugin-container is killing my PC
Any time I've tried running Netflix since upgrading to quantum, the performance has been so bad I switched to using Internet Explorer to watch. This is intolerable! INTERNET EXPLORER for god sake!@ I need to find a way to fix this before I start calling non-existant grand kids to have them set up my email. What info do you need and how can we fix this please?

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? Error messages?

OK, let me be more expansive. Whenever I load up Netflix in Firefox it displays great. the moment I get into any video, even the loading circle stutters and the video is choppy and unwatchable. I move over to chrome or internet exploder and Netflix displays perfectly. I have the newest version of Firefox. I have no more than 5 add-ons and none are for video. My PC runs windows 7, it has a 4Gb graphics card and 8Gb of ram with a 256Gb SSD and a 3TB HD. I have done a complete uninstall and reinstall of Firefox along with eliminating my profile folder and such from the AppData directories ie: clean start. I have eliminated hardware acceleration and enabled it as well. I have set it high and low with no results. I have even checked and unchecked the recommended performance button with no results. There is no network proxy changes that make a difference either. Anything else you need?
You checked out the links I posted, yes?
Is there a problem with clips on any other website?
Make sure you are not blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}
>You checked out the links I posted, yes? Yes, went through them one at a time. None made any difference.
>Is there a problem with clips on any other website? the only time I see any performance issues is when plugin-container.exe is in the task manager
>Make sure you are not blocking content. nothing inappropriate is being blocked.
>>safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down >the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. As I mentioned. I cleared out my profile directory and started from scratch with nothing. still an issue.

It's funny, the moment the plugin-container.exe starts performance goes to shit and video is choppy and stuttery as well as audio. If I kill the plugin-container.exe PC performance immediately returns to normal and, well Netflix will not display anything and comes up with the proper error.
Two things I want you do do.
You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
Do Not remove any profile folders.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Uninstalled Mozilla Firefox and removed from all locations the directory. Ran all antimalware software and clean everything found. PUP crap and one trojan in an unused profile. Installed the downloaded firefox fresh and installed after reboot. No difference. Second malware scans came up clean.
I called for more help. Check out this link; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-is-plugin-container
If everything else fails, would you take a look at this article (and please, read every possible solution) :
https://www.techperiod.com/disable-plugin-container-exe-process-firefox/
These, on the other hand, either flat out didn't work or the didn't allow the watching of Netflix movies. kinda defeats the perpose meaning I can just use Internet Exploder to watch it and not mess with Firefox.
Unfortunatly nothing worked and the container still kills the PC's functionality. I am at a loss myself and thank everyone for the help offered. I hope this will be answered some time soon.

Disabling the container, as explained in the article Murphy gave you a link to, is no option ?

As I pointed out in an earlier comment, all that does is stop Netflix from working. I might as well stick to using Internet Exploder then.
