After reading a mail and viewing a link, the linked text changes colour. OK. When I create a linked text it is underlined and coloured blue. OK. But if I try to copy the link to a new text in a new mail the colour remains the same as the read text. Why does the text not show as a new linked text ie, underlined and blue?

As the link is not "linkified" until you click send or you save the message to drafts and close it, all you are seeing is the text formatted as it was in whatever program you copied it from. Don't want it that colour, and you are specifying the colour as part of your paste, paste as plain text.

Ctrl+Shit+V or right click in your email and select paste without formatting.
