Thunderbird 38.5.0 running on FreeBSD 10.2 for almost one year suddenly asked if we wanted to add a new email account or use the existing one. Rebooting computer had no effect. We chose to use existing account and it asked for server password, which was entered. It then overwrote the email directory. Did it make a backup copy of previous Inbox, Sent, etc.? We did not change or update either Thunderbird or Firefox or the operating system.
