hi,

How to switch back to Firefox's old download manager for firefox mozilla ver 45.0

I try to use the below step but unable to do it.

1. Open a new tab.

2. Type about:config, then press Enter.

3. Paste the following into the search field: browser.download.useToolkitUI

4. Under the Value field, right-click false and then click Toggle. That should set the Value to "true."

5. Restart Firefox.

Hi aswadimano, Sorry, but you appear to have been following outdated advice.

The method to do something similar to that now is to use an addon. Which one may depend on what features you would like to have. There are hundreds of options to choose from.

The browser.download.useToolkitUI preference was only a temporary workaround starting Firefox 20.0 and did not work since Firefox 26.0 as the old download manager back end was removed then.

There is this extension also https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/downloads-window/
