I can no longer save a bookmark to a specified folder that already exist. In previous version when you click on the "Star" or "Bookmark this page" a popup windows offers the user an option of where to save the bookmark, Since I updated the popup no longer appears. In fact clicking on the Blue start does nothing when previously it offered you the option to edit the bookmark.

I have previously read other similar post and all say the feature doesn't exist which is completely incorrect. I have tried to upload a screenshot that illustrates the pop up but as it would be the upload images feature is not working (49K image).

Did you try to cut and paste the bookmark in the Bookmarks Manager (Library; Show All Bookmarks)?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file (bookmarks, history) in the Firefox profile folder.

jscher2000 - Thanks for the assist, it was the TreeStyle Tab extension causing the issue. Once I disabled the extension, the popup for bookmarks worked once again.
