I just one a single tab to appear when I start Mozilla. In my case this is my start page on GOOGLE. Why do I also get the Mozilla Firefox Start Page? I don't need or want it. How do I disable this tab so it does not appear every time I start Mozilla Firefox?

Also how do I disable the "Welcome to Firefox" tab from appearing?

Hi, please see How to set the home page, and make sure that 'Home Page' only shows your preferred start page - eg google.com and delete anything else.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

You can check the home page setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page

Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.
