Each time I open Firefox, the program opens multiple tabs that I had searched and reviewed a couple months ago. I have attempted to properly log off Firefox. I have also uninstalled the Firefox program and all its components and then reinstalled the program. I have met the same results. All the tabs reopen each time I open Firefox. I have been happy with Firefox and would hate to have to give up on the program. Please help me.

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that sets the browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once pref to true.

Hi Janine, do these tabs only appear at startup or do they also appear when you open a new window using Ctrl+n or when you double-click the Firefox desktop shortcut a second time?

If they show up with Ctrl+n AND every time you use the desktop shortcut:

You might have accidentally made those tabs your home pages. You can view/edit/reset your home page(s) in the Options dialog. These articles have more information:

If they show up whenever you use the desktop shortcut:

These pages might somehow have been added to the shortcut's "target". You can check that by right-clicking the shortcut > Properties, then on the Shortcut tab, the Target should be the following with nothing after it:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

If they only show up when Firefox starts up:

Firefox may be set to restore a previous session. Normally this shows windows and tabs from your most recently closed session, so it's strange that you get older ones. If you always want to start with your home page, you can make that change in the Options dialog. This article points the way:

Does any of that help?
