Cannot setup Samsung Tab S for Thunderbird, any ideas?
Firefox works fine, and no problem with my gmail email account. But I cannot get my normal email accounts to work. I have checked the smtp and port settings, I've check the login details and security. I've tried IMAP incoming server with imap. and mail. Nothing.
Help really appreciate when you have time.

Thanks, that gave me the direction to work in and the problem is now resolved. I found an App called MailWise which solved my problem. Regards Drachsi

The Tab is an Android device and there is no Android version of Thunderbird.
That's a shame. Anybody out there got it working? Regards Drachsi
Got what working. Thunderbird email client will not install on an Android device. There should have been a mail client on the Tab already or you can download software that works on Android.
Yes there is an email client, and I have tried the same settings as on my PC but cannot get it to work. The same program works fine with gmail.
The message is " Authentication failed" or Cannot safely connect to server" I have tried all available options. This is for incoming emails. The port number is 143.
Your continued help and support would be appreciated.
Regards Drachsi
You are using an android device that is not capable of running Thunderbird software. I am not sure what you expect from a support forum for Thunderbird software. Maybe Samsung has a support forum for their device and software.
Hi, Sorry I am a real novice. I thought as Thunderbird is my email prog, I could somehow use the tablet to access my email account, like webmail does.
So there is no way to access the emails, only with Thunderbird?
Regards Drachs
Thunderbird is an email client software. You get your email from an email provider and that is not Thunderbird. You either need to access your email providers web mail page with an Internet browser to see your email or configure the email client on your tablet to access your email providers server.
