My firefox updated and now the address bar does not work. I type in addresses and hit enter and nothing happens. I click on address from the drop down box and nothing happens. The search bars and bookmarks work just fine. Last time it updated the address bar would not work nor would the + for new tab work. I redownloaded it and it put it back to the previous version and everything worked just fine. Then it updated it again this morning and the address bar does not work, but the + tab does.

Did you try to use Firefox in Safe Mode? If it works, that tells us something. If not, that tells us something also.

I found that after Firefox v29, a LOT of my settings and
add-ons were changed / reset. Try this; Start Firefox in Safe Mode
While you are in safe mode;
Firefox Options > Advanced > General.
Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Then check ALL of your settings. Browser and add-ons. Then restart.

Also, check out Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis)
Restore squared tabs, appmenu, add-ons bar, small button view and more on Australis UI (Windows/MacOSX/Linux + Fx 29+).

That did not work, the address bar still will not go to anything at all.

Speed dialing is for those of us that use a phone line instead of a data line.
