After the update last night, the newly added side menu worked fine. However this morning when I clicked on the side menu button nothing happened. My cursor is able to have a hover effect on the button but when I click the button the drop down menu does not occur. I have tried disabling many of my extensions as well as restart Firefox however my problem still persist. My options are limited as I am unable to access any configuration from the menu.

Hi simon1023, Were you using the classic theme restorer before? Also I am not sure how you added a side bar in version 29, can you please provide the steps on how to do this, this will help further troubleshoot.

What toolbar button are you referring to?

Is that one of the default button that Firefox comes with or one added by an extension?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

What I meant was the tool bar added to the right side of the browser after Update 29, I managed to be able to open safe mode after accessing the old menu bar by right clicking the tab section. Originally I couldn't even access safe mode as the update 29 drop down bar was not opening. Safe mode fixed my problem so clearly one of my addons was conflicting with the update.

That is the new 3-bar Firefox menu button that has replaced the orange Firefox menu button.
