FF 12 Unreliable

Since updating to FF 12, I've experienced increasing problems. Here's the latest:

Clicking the 'Choose Your Color/Size' dropdown does NOTHING. This page works in both IE and Chrome.

I removed and reinstalled FF12. I ran in Safe Mode. I disabled all plugins. Nothing - same behavior.

This on top of FF frequently not responding, slow page loads (even in side-by-side tests with IE and Chrome), and page loads that hang - all of which are not observed in other browsers.

Same problem with FF 12 on Ubuntu 12. Both Web and Epiphany browsers have not problem.

True this page does not validate (so few ever do), but none of the errors I see are related to the <SELECT> tag.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.

Do you mean that the drop down down not drop? I am using FF12 and it works fine for me.

I suggest clearing the cache / cookies:

How to clear the Firefox cache

Also if you are having other responsiveness / performance issues please have a look at Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down

I hope that helps.

Clearing the cache had not effect...

Do you have the same problem when starting firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode?

As stated, in Safe Mode and Safe Mode with all plugins disabled.

Interesting observation - mouse pointer position within the drop down button appears to influence this behavior. If the tip of the mouse pointer is in the lower third of the button, almost no failures. However, positioned in the upper two-thirds of the button, 100% failures.

Mouse pointer position effect the same in FF 12 in Safe Mode on Ubuntu 12...

Even stranger... Only clicking the lower portion of the button will open the drop down, yet clicking anywhere in the button will close the drop down.

Try to DON'T click in the dropdown arrow, click in the text box.

thank you

EDIT: ideato has it.

Aside from the drop down issue have a look at Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down and Firefox hangs or is not responding - How to fix to see if you can get it to speed up.

ideato's suggestion works, but where I click does not matter in IE or Chrome and the HTML standard makes no restriction on clicking the text box versus the button. Also, clicking the button in FF works fine on many other pages.

Appears there's a bug in FF - not detecting the click event properly.

There is a problem with the DIV container (class="gChild g2") that keeps the Size chart link.
That container overlays most of the drop down arrow and prevents it from working.

I see what you're referring to in FireBug. Delete the DIV and the button works.

In Chrome, the DIV does not overlay the button.

In IE, the DIV does overlay the button, but the click event still works.

No debate, the markup is poorly done, but it only causes a problem in FF. If you turn off CSS via Web Developer (no positioning), clicking the button still works.
