Firefox about:addons doesn't load
I have the newest firefox, but my about:addons page won't load. When I surf to that page, all I get is an endless "loading" dialogue. Pushing tabs (get/appearance/plugins) does absolutely nothing but continue the endless "loading" problem.

Do you have a problem with accessing other Google pages?
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Try this: In the left column of the Add-ons page/tab, click on any item other than "Get Add-ons". Doing that one time should resolve the problem. I thought that problem was fixed, but maybe not.

As I said, I've done that. It does nothing.
Sorry, I did not see/read that part.
The files that store information about your installed extensions may have become corrupted. Try the reset of those files discussed in the following.

Not related to your question, but...
You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:

Since that page is part of Firefox, I would suspect the localstore file in the profile of being damaged.
If that does not fix it, try basic troubleshooting.
well, the plugin check page gave me this:
Plugin Finding Service Error We've encountered an error. Please try your request again later.
Try this Plugin Check page: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
Thanks SafeBrowser. Trying that now.

Almost I think. I needed some extension updates. Still working.
Okay. Extensions updated. I also tried deleting the extensions files as suggested.
about:addons still not loading. neither is klout.com nor google+
Try to reset the preferences.

Make sure that you click the Extension tab on the Tools > Add-ons page.
You may need to wait a few seconds to get a response and have the extensions show up.
as i said in the other thread ([https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/que.../892637#answer-270018|here] here), i've already done all that. i did all that before i did anything else.

i've ran spyware. i've checked for malware. i've booted and rebooted. i've uninstalled and reinstalled. i can't get to google+ or to klout.com. the browser won't load twitter's new "t.co" shortlinks. everything else seems to work just fine.
as far as the "Make sure that you click the Extension tab on the Tools > Add-ons page." that's part of the problem. i can't get "about:addons" to load. i said that in the very first message and throughout.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

okay that's one thing i've not tried. i'll do that in a bit. thank you.
okay. when i shut firefox down to do all of this ... i never got through any of it. when i opened it back up to check something, or tried to open it back up to check something, i got a "firefox is already running" dialog. i checked my processes and services to turn it off - and couldn't find firefox or mozilla anything in either place. so i uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and rebooted - twice - and i'm still getting the "already running" dialog. i can't do anything with the program at all now.
