Does Firefox [7.0] even actually exist?
I had had my currently running version of Firefox(v6.0.2) set up in it's preferences to automatically update when an update became available(but for it to ask me what I want to do before it installs), and about 1/2 hr. ago when I opened Firefox It prompted me that the latest version(7.0) was available and that it was strongly recommended that I install this update, so I clicked [install now], and I got the install window and it didn't actually start downloading the update; instead, it shouwed the classic "moving barber shop pole" thing on the progress indicator and never progressed to the actual download. I'll try closing and reopening Firefox, and if that doesn't work, I'll try [Pref Cleaner] and/or reset the file type settings on my MacBook using [Xupport]. Sincerely, \ / Steve 1.1

I have had firefox 7 for a while it existed previously on the other channels. My release copy has also now updated.
I suppose even with the use of mirror sites it will be a busy day for downloads as Today is the first day the version 7 moves to be the general release.
Have you got any security software or firewalls that may be blocking the download or the installation. see also:
Hi John,
I can't remember exactly what I did to solve the problem; I either just closed Firefox and reopened it or I used [Xupport] to reset the file type settings on my MacBook, but afterwards I opened Firefox again and chose [About Firefox] from the [Firefox] menu next to the [File] menu and when I clicked on the [Check For Updates] button, this time, it worked, and now I do in fact have Firefox v7.0(o:

Glad it worked for you, too, John99, yes/no/maybe the Mozilla website had a virus or something, LOL, or maybe it was like in that one compter virus joke email I got from a friend some years ago; this "virus" exchanges all your Rogaine for Nair, exchanges all your Nair For Rogaine, completely erases and rewrites the "zero sector" on your hard disk drive, transforms your printer into a Quick-EE-Mart Slurpee machine and ties up all your other peripherals to use as something different for no apparent reason...well, John, I hope your further adventures with Firefox are good ones. I downloaded Firefox 7.0.0 without any problem a few days ago. Today I got a notice for update 7.0.1 and tried to install it. "Partial install" failed as per notice, then received a full update tried installing it - received a notice that the patch failed. So went to Firefox site to download full version. After attempting to install full 7.0.1 version I receive a message that the file is corrupted. So of course I did not install that. What should I do now??? Please help !!!

I suggest you start your own thread, and copy any error messages that you see into that new question. My firefox 7.o has recently updated without problems to firefox 7.0.1 (Other than as I mentioned in another thread, maybe I did not see the expected release info page for the new point release version - I sought it out manually)
