I have upgraded to OSX Lion and now Firefox does not work properly. Pictures, borders , links drop down menus etc on frequently used websites do not load . One example of this problem is Autotrader.co.uk, but there are many other sites that do not load correctly, even sites that do load take a long time

Safari loads these sites correctly and very quickly so I know my internet connection and the sites are OK

I have tried clearing my cache, cookies, and history etc but this makes no difference

There are other posts about Lion. There certainly are some known issues mainly with new features, some of which Firefox developers may be working on.

You will need to try to work out which of your problems may be due to Lion, and which may have some other cause. If you give specific details of problems on a couple of sites maybe another Mac user will comment.

Problems with firefox being slow can be rather difficult to pin down there are an awful lot of variable to consider. It may be worth trialing a Beta or Aurora version of Firefox, as some bugs have been fixed in those versions, and it will always be worth trying firefox's safe mode (click continue when you see the list or options, do not make changes) and disabling plugins.

Would Corporate America quit blabbing about nothing for a minute? Who cares about all the other problems with firefox? If you don't have a solution, don't waist the page space.

The problem stems from Firefox prioritizing IPv6 over IPv4 when doing DNS lookups. This is particularly troublesome with Google's websites.

I wonder if others see that as the problem ?
and see an improvement after following that advice ?

I suppose potentially something similar could occur on other OS s, however I wonder how long realistically the lookup times are ?
(Can not say I have noticed problems myself on a Windows system, but have not fired up firebug to get timed results)
