I updated to FF 4.xx and lost my Download Helper. I also had a lot of memory and lockup problems. I uninstalled FF 4 and went back to FF 3.6.17. Now I cannot reinstall Download Helper. I keep getting and error near the end of the install. The error reads as follows.

Firefox could not install the file at http://releases.mozilla.org/pub,mozilla.org/addons/3003/videos_downloadhelper=4.9.3-sm+fx.xpi

Because: Unexpected installation error Review the error Console Log for more details. -203

I went and found the error log and it said to clear my cache and or wait a few hours and try again. It's been several weeks and I still can't install it. I tried to uninstall Download Helper completely and reinstall and get the same error.

Also, once in a while when I start FF it asks me to upgrade Download Helper which leads me to believe it is seeing it. If I allow it to upgrade the same error occurs. I'm baffled!

Try locating your Firefox user profile directory (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox) and remove (or rename) those files:

   extensions.ini
   extensions.cache
   extensions.rdf
   extensions.sqlite
   extensions.sqlite-journal

Thanks a lot. It worked perfect. I never would have thought of doing that. In fact, when I started FF after renaming the files, Download Helper had already updated itself and it is working fine. Thanks Again: George

Got a new one. I keep getting this script error. (See Attachment) It comes sometimes when I try to download a picture. It may also come up when I am closing FF. Any ideas? Thanks: George

That is a problem with clearing data via "Clear Recent History".

In this case it looks like a problem with the image cache.

You can try to exclude some items by removing all check marks in the settings of "Clear Recent History" and only set one at the time.
