How do I transfer trash from [email protected] to local trash folder

Just installed 68.8.0 (32-bit) on Windows 7 Pro, to see how it handles email, prior to installing Windows 10 Pro.

The account name [email protected]/trash folder is routinely purged of older trash emails per folder properties/retention policy/use my account settings.

I want to copy/move all account name [email protected] trash to local folders/trash folder where they will not be deleted per folder properties/retention policy/don't delete any messages.

At my discretion (say 6 months from now) I will go through the local folders/trash and move them back to account name [email protected]/trash folder (assuming that can be done without screwing with folder properties.)

Over the 25 years I have used some version of some email program, I have found that emails may, and I stress may, be automatically sent to trash and accidentally be deleted without my knowledge. In have lost very valuable emails this way.

By the way, I successfully moved 11 emails from account name [email protected] trash to local folders/trash folder without thinking. I do not know how this was done and have never been able to do it again.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

A picture is worth 1000 words. I had a longer post with step by step manual instructions for moving messages between IMAP folders, but this Tools/MessageFilter method is simple.

Select your Yahoo/Trash folder. Hold down ALT and type TFN. Give the new filter a name. "Collect Trash" is what I used. Change the match from Subject to Age, and "is greater than". Then use "0" as the value/age. Get the destination folder in the "Move Message to" action by navigating drop downs -- Local Folders -- Trash -- Trash.

Good luck!
